Padel is a very dynamic and engaging sport characterized by long rallies and spectacular points. Padel’s competitive nature combined with its social character makes it a very entertaining and enjoyable activity.
Our team currently includes six padel enthusiasts: Rafael Moreno (Spain), Iulia Vodislav (Romania), Alex Carpen (Romania), Daniel Prieto (Spain), Adrian Vodislav (Romania) and Cătălin Tămaș (Romania).
Rafael Moreno
Rafa hails from Montilla/Córdoba, Spain. He completed his early education in Montilla and then moved to Granada to study Pedagogy. Rafa has been a fan of racket sports all his life. He started playing tennis when he was five and then transitioned to padel later in life. In 2012 Rafa acquired his padel instructor certificate from the RFP Padel Plus Academy and started teaching lessons soon after. He joined PadelMania in 2013 as a manager and padel instructor and has been teaching more than 200 players since. He recommends padel because it is a very accessible sport and can be enjoyed by players of all levels.
Iulia Vodislav
Iulia grew up on the tennis court and pursued a great variety of sports throughout her life. She eventually tried padel and fell in love with it. She finds it spectacular, social, and fun – the perfect combo!! After 7 years of coaching tennis, she switched to coaching padel. She has been doing for about 2 years now.
Alex Carpen
Born in Bucharest in november 86

Adrian Vodislav
Adrian is an ex-professional tennis player who won multiple national and international championships and has garnered an ATP ranking before heading to university in the United States. Adrian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a Master’s degree in International Political Economy from King’s College London. Adrian is passionate about development and behavioral economics, diplomacy and sports, especially padel. He discovered padel in 2014 and could not stop thinking about it since. Adrian currently holds a Guinness World Record for his successful attempt to play padel for 25 hours straight together with his friends Adrian Barbu, Dan Lazar and Gabi Moraru.
Daniel Prieto
Daniel is from Spain but has been living in Romania since 2006. Daniel holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration and he is a certified SAP consultant. He started his carrier as a SAP consultant but after 8 years he decided to travel around the world and landed in Romania where he invested in real estate. He founded a real estate company that is still successfully operating all over Romania. Daniel started playing padel in the 90’s in Madrid when it was still relatively unknown and immediately fell in love with the sport. Since his early days in Romania, Daniel thought about brining padel to Romania, but it wasn’t until 2013 when he met Begoña that they decided to found PadelMania. Daniel believes that padel is more than a sport, it is a game and players are meant to have fun. That’s why he encourages people to come to PadelMania to play, socialize and have fun!
Cătălin Tămaş
Catalin’s journey in padel began 10 years ago and very soon became his favourite sport. At present, he is not just a teacher but also a mentor who inspires a love for Padel and helps players reach their full potential, whether they aspire to be competitive athletes or simply enjoy the game for recreation and fitness.

Padel is beneficial for good physical and mental health. It reduces the risk of death by 47% and the risk of suffering a heart disease by 56%. Padel also increases your agility, balance, speed, strength and coordination.
Padel is currently the fastest growing sport in the world, with over 10 million players around the world. Padel is extremely popular in Spain where in 2014 it overtook tennis to become the second biggest participation sport after football.
Padel is a team sport only played in doubles. Having 4 people on a small court at the same time brings everyone closer together, making social conversation between players an integral part of the game.
Players learn how to play relatively quickly and improve very fast. Whereas tennis is dependent on an individual’s physical aptitude and technique, the progression curve in padel is much smoother.
Padel is an intergenerational game, in which children, parents and grandparents can play all together. Although it is intense, padel requires less physical effort than tennis or squash.
